Thinking about a Pet Sitter?

We at Starr Pet Resort strive to provide the best in pet care and know that pet owners have alternative options to boarding facilities. This could be a family member, friend, neighbor, or a pet sitter who comes to your house. However, this can pose problems for certain pets, as outlined below. As a result, we truly believe Starr Pet Resort can best provide the quality care your pet deserves.

Here are some situations to consider when choosing quality care for your pet:

Quality Time and Attention

Usually when you hire a pet sitter or a neighbor to watch your pet, they only come to your house once or twice a day. This leaves your pet alone for up to 22-23 hours a day. When this person is at your home, there is usually a limit to the amount of time they are able to spend with your pet on things like exercise, interaction, and observation. Yet your pet should receive even more attention on these activities when you’re away.

We have trained, dedicated, loving staff here from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. every day, along with surveillance cameras that monitor your pet 24/7, even when it’s sleeping. We also have a veterinarian who is reachable 24 hours a day should the need arise. All of this adds up to real peace of mind for you while you’re away from your pet.

If you have multiple pets in your home, this can also create problems for a sitter. They will be even more limited in the time they can spend with each of your animals. At Starr Pet Resort, our staff is trained to take care of many animals at a time and make sure they are all happy and healthy.

Changes in Behavior

A pet’s behavior can change when their owner is away and they’ve been left alone. Sometimes this will cause them to experience severe stress, separation anxiety, and boredom. This can lead to your pet destroying your house, yard, and personal belongings. We at Starr Pet Resort strive to make our facility a stress-free environment for your pet by offering activities to keep them busy and hands-on attention to reassure them that they are safe and loved.

Emergencies

What if there is an emergency at your home while you’re away? A pipe breaks and water is flooding your home, or something catches on fire? Your pet will have no way to get out. Or, what if there is a natural disaster like an earthquake, flood, or the power goes out–how will your pet sitter be able to get to your pets?

At Starr Pet Resort, there is always someone here to take care of your pet in an emergency. Our facilities are fully equipped with smoke detection and a backup generator, and we have evacuation plans in place should the need arise. All of this will leave you at ease while your pet is at our facility.

We understand that some pet owners choose pet sitters and other alternatives because of cost considerations. But keep in mind that quality care is worth paying for as it is not easily found. Starr Pet Resort is dedicated to giving your pet the quality care it deserves through our highly trained staff and modern facilities.

We hope that you consider all of these factors when choosing pet care for your beloved companion. We know it’s a big leap of faith to leave your pet at a facility, but we want to assure you that with us, your pet will be treated as one of the family.

Evacuation Policy:

As we all know living in Northern California our climate environment has changed.  We now have to be prepared for a thing called Fire Season.  Starr Pet Resort has a plan in place in case of a fire evacuation.  We have a new Recreation vehicle that has been fitted with crates and stocked with all the needed essentials to evacuate your pet and maintain its’ safety and wellbeing should the need arise
