FAQ’s

Q: I have never left my dog at a pet care facility before, and I’m nervous.

A: The owners and staff of Starr Pet Resort (formerly Starr Kennels) are highly trained animal lovers. With our personalized accommodations, hands-on approach, and modern facilities, your dog will adapt to its new environment with little to no worry. We also offer additional activities to help make the transition easier on your dog. In no time, your dog will feel like he’s at home. We would also like to suggest a one-night trial prior to your dog’s extended stay to familiarize him with the new surroundings and people so that he understands his stay will be fun and you will be coming back for him.

Q: What do I need to do before my dog comes to stay?

A: You should provide us with vaccination records for Bordetella, DHLPP, and Rabies before your dog’s arrival (you may fax these to us). You can also make any grooming or A la Carte Activities arrangements prior to arrival.

Q: What about food for my dog?

A: Starr Pet Resort (formerly Starr Kennels) will provide your dog with a nutritionally balanced lamb and rice kibble. However, you are more than welcome to bring your dog’s usual food with him. It is usually easier on your dog’s stomach to stay on the diet he’s used to eating. Please make sure when bringing your dog’s food that it is pre-measured and bagged for each meal. Please do not bring your dog’s bowls or dishes. (We will provide these as they are sanitized daily.)

Q: What if my dog needs veterinary care?

A: Should you dog require veterinary attention while in our care, we will attempt to contact your veterinarian. If you veterinarian is not open, we will then contact our 24-hour veterinarian.

Q: Can I come and see your facility?

A: Absolutely! Our staff is more than happy to show you what our facility and staff have to offer you and your pet. Please feel free to stop by anytime Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (except 4 days prior to and after a major holiday). Unfortunately, we do not allow your dog to come on the tour. We thank you in advance for your understanding.

Q: How can I make a reservation?

A: To make a reservation at Starr Pet Resort, please contact us directly. All reservations must be confirmed by telephone or in person. Our staff will be able to guide you through the reservation process and discuss with you what options will best fit your dog’s needs. Please keep in mind that holiday and peek times do fill up quickly.
